This step shows the application of red on a Karatsu katakuchi in preparation for gold. It is cold in my studio so neither the brush nor the lacquer cooperates in application.

This video shows step 1, applying red lacquer in preparation for keshifun gold using traditional, lacquer based kintsugi. This repair is large so I am doing multiple applications which is why you see some areas with gold already applied.
