I have decided to make a new site from which I can sell from. Up until now I have sold through Etsy and found it convenient although expensive in fees. They have just raised their fees to a potential 15% of a sale

which I assume most sellers will deal with by raising prices. Instead I will either set up a store on this site or make a new site. The domain won’t change, it will still be the same URL.
These 2 bowls came to me a couple of months ago and I am getting around to working on them.

This video shows the last polishing of silver #3 on 2 pieces I am finishing for someone who did the substrate lacquer. There is a breakthrough on the first one and second one, probably caused by the application of the red. Short of completely sanding everything off and reapplying the metal there is no way to fix it.

This video shows the secondary polishing of silver #3 on 2 pieces I am finishing for someone who did the substrate lacquer. There is a breakthrough on the first one and what looks like the possibility of one on the second.

Here is a Han period Chinese koro. Smashed with some missing pieces in the lid. It will be a challenging piece for a number of reasons. It is an earthenware lustre glaze which means it will be very easy to destroy the surface. Also, the missing piece will be a challenge.

This video shows polishing rounded, graded, #3 gold, step 5a, 5b, and 5c. I use ishiko, and 3 polishing compounds. In the video I only polish 1/2 of the foot of this Edo period bowl. Yesterday I did the other 1/2. In the next couple of days I will do the outsides and the inside. It will take about 1-2 hours to polish to the end of the compounds. There are about 5 more steps after this middle polishing.
