This video shows the application of a thick type of lacquer over #10 grind silver. The lacquer is nashiji and it is used over grinds of metal over #5. It will take 2 or 3 applications of nashiji before the silver is ready to polish.

Kintsugi metal finishing
I am making these for my upcoming workshop in San Fransisco. The second workshop on November 1st. has a focus on the final steps of kintsugi, finishing of the metal. These squares will have #3 and #5 silver on them and we will do the final finishing. Trying to do the final finishing on actual ceramics only works well if you have a piece that actually has a repair, it doesn’t work that well on glaze.
